Zoom link and readings will be emailed to those that register

Please join us for the next session of the APPEAL reading group on the law and political economy of capitalism.  All are welcome, and participants need not attend each session, though we do ask participants to read the materials in advance. We also encourage participants to join APPEAL by signing up as a member, www.politicaleconomylaw.org

Please join us to discuss labor and property rights in the next What is Capitalism session, Friday June 25, 2:00-3:30pm Eastern Time (UTC-4). The discussion will be led by Professor Kim Christensen, Sarah Lawrence Economics Department, and Martha McCluskey, Professor Emerita, University at Buffalo Law School

The short readings will address the pending U.S. Supreme Court case, Cedar Point Nursery vs. Hassid, where an agricultural business argues that the Constitution gives employers a right to exclude labor organizers from their property, overriding a state law giving unions access to farmworkers in the fields. The case is connected to a broader property rights movement interested in expanding businesses' power to resist regulatory oversight.

We hope to "see" you on June 25th!
