The Summer Academy, first held in 2019, is co-sponsored by APPEAL, the European Association of Evolutionary Political Economy (EAEPE), and the Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET) Young Scholars Initiative's Finance, Law and Economics Working Group, in coordination with the University of Manchester and the University of Rome. The Summer Academy brings together emerging and senior scholars focused on the intersections between global law and political economy, with funding especially dedicated to emerging scholars from former colonial countries. Academy participants workshop papers, analyze issues in small group and classroom settings, and collaborate in real time case studies.
